Pretty much as you'd expect. It's a shame the spinlocks are now plastic but its a small compromise to keep the costs down.

Dumbell set arrived in good time, comfortable grip and will be ideal for my needs. However one of the plastic locking parts will not **** on properly so can only use one set at the moment. I’ve emailed with photos of the problem and requesting how I can get a new part but have yet to hear back anything from the company.

Delivered 2 days early, well packed. Pristine everything. The plastic collars are far better than the metal ones, they don't work loose like the metal ones do. I'm happy with my purchase. Now to get to it!! 💪

Good product. Everything works. The tube is metal and the plastic bits are hard and sturdy. All the dumbells came intacts I just didn't take a pic of all of them

Great dumbell set!

I'm really pleased with these dumbbells, they are great for a full body workout.

I chose this product for the material. I can see cast iron lasting much longer than sand or cement filling. The material also keeps it reasonably compact allowing me to store them in the corner of the room when not in use. Adding and removing weights is easy. The plastic retaining caps appears to be plenty strong enough and I don't see this being a problem.

I weighed each weight on a scale - the kg on each is not true look at my pictures showing actual weight. So if you think you have a 2.5kg weight you actually have a 2.4kg if you think you have a 1.25kg weight you actually have have 1.1kg weight

Took a while to be delivered but overall they look good. The spinlock collars probably don’t look the best, probably will unscrew. However I’m happy with them! Good range of weights and easy to use.Would be helpful if they included a box/bag to carry them in!

The actual weights are great, just what I wanted, however the packaging is TERRIBLE - I opened the door to the delivery driver to find the weights and box contents strewn all over my front door step (see photo) - the box is not strong enough. I had to ask him to wait while I checked everything to make sure it was all there. Good job I was in, I would have been mortified if he'd asked a neighbour to accept that!

Good quality dumbbell set for home use. I was pleasantly surprised at how well the plastic collar held the plates in place. The packaging was compact and insufficient to prevent small cosmetic damages to the plastic handles and the coating on the plates. (See photos). These were not important to me.Cons: The chromed bars in my set had rust damage, and I am going to request a replacement bar. Given the quality of the other components, I think it is likely that this was a storage rather than manufacturing issue. I will update the review once this has been resolved.Summary: solid set for home use, packaging could be insufficient if you care about cosmetic damage.

It doesn't mater that the collars are plastic, overall it is a great dumbbell set. There is one discs have a crack which would cut your hand. But it doesn't matter when you normally use them.

These have been on my list of things to get to a while and now I have gotten round to it, the purchase was definitely worth it!The weights are great quality and well made, they feel like a quality product and completely worth the money. They are ideal for casual use due to the small size allowing you to keep them anywhere and they will also fit in in a gym environment!The weights are also heavy of course, so I would advise caution when storing them on wooden floors but as long as you don't go sliding them about the floor it'l be safe. I would put down a small mat or something however if you have an overly expensive floor or if your going to be throwing them about a bit.The weights do have a black coating that can come off if you smash the weights together putting them on the bar however it isnt massively noticeable and can be avoided if your careful with the weights.The bar is relatively large allowing you to fit a large number of weights onto it and my image shows the largest weight I could manage to fit on which was plenty for my, and I imagine many others casual use.The collars are made of quite a strong plastic however they are not made of any premium metal. I feel they are fit for purpose however, they hold the weights well and don't seem to slip out of place at all during use. They slide on and off very easily and I can tighten them really well!Overall I think the weights are amazing value for money! They come super well packaged, which was a worry due to the heavy wright, however packaging turned out not to be an issue.Definitely worth the purchase if your looking to build some muscle or just to have some weights for casual / daily use!

I wanted 30kg of weights as 20kg, well you need more than that. I bought this set together with the extra York 4 x 2.5kg set, advertised elsewhere here on Amazon.There is a second York 20kg option, the difference being a carry case, knurled steel instead of plastic handgrip, and steel instead of plastic collars, for a few quid more. It turns out the shipping box is well solid, more than enough for storage or transport. The plastic grip is thicker that the steel one, which I think is more comfy, with and without gloves. The plastic collars seem quite good, as they don't come loose as the steel ones did on my old set, certainly strong enough.All up I'm well pleased.The extra 10kg of weights go on the bars no problem, you don't really need a longer bar than the 14" ones here, don't know why you would want a 16" or 18" bar.Also comes with a large workout chart which I only took a glance at, it did seem comprehensive though.Had a couple of days off work so ordered for next day delivery. Ordered in the afternoon and arrived next morn.Please also see my uploaded photos.

Great price for a these dumbbells. Though be aware that these are not packaged in the heavy duty plastic storage case that other version did. The bars now come with a rubberised grip which is easier in the hands than the older version. Very quick delivery too. I brought these as an "add on" set to go with my older York 20kg dumbbells...works out cheaper than buying an expensive set of 40kg adjustable ones.

Excellent. And at a fantastic price. I have always bought York equipment because it's well made and lasts

This is my second set so I don’t need to keep changing weights - a bit of an extravagance!
