No offense to the brand mainly supplied by argos.
My old bench has seen me through the last 10 years.
Ultimately for me it wasn't finding the motivation or will power to train alone at home upstairs in my spare bedroom/cats bedroom, it was all down to the bench.
Mine was unable to go to 90° nor was it sturdy or built for my needs.
I've always known of York since 8 years old (1993).
I went to there website and luckily for me there is or was a summer sale.
I could of bought whatever but I just wanted a bench. The one I'm reviewing was £299.99 reduced from a fair bit more.
There are accessories to use with the bench also which I later purchased obviously.
The initial first glance over the distructions lol was daunting, think there is 58 parts plus screws etc.
Told myself not today but hey.
The screws etc was all vacuum packed individually in 3 stages. Which was great, as were the steps to assemble.
No tools thow. Not for everything and what was there are poor but I'm not taking that into account.
The hardest thing to fit was the pin under the seat.
Took me on my own even thow it says must be two of you 2 hrs.
First 30 mins packaging.
Next 30 mins laying it all out.
Didn't check components! Put trust in York.
Then 1 hour sweating.
Then I've been experimenting with the whole setup for two weeks.
All accessories and the bench.
It's a work of art.
It's now in my top 3 most brilliant purchases.
I have only two positive criticisms for York and the bench.
Leg curl accessorie needed lubrication to stop squeaking and the back support could do with a mechanism that stops it from falling forward when upright 90°.
Those two things are minor. Bit of lubrication and it's not dangerous that the back pad may fall forward it stops after 20°.
What did rile me was the delivery. I placed two orders separately. 2 items per order.
They got delivered on 4 lorrys at 4 separate times. Nightmare. DPD
Other than that. I am over the moon with my purchases.
The quality and thought gone into this bench is second to none.
I did question the size of the gap in between the seat and back support but it all makes sense. The way the bench can facilitate all the accessories, positions and stability is remarkable.
Top Marks to York and its employees.
Highly recommend.
I'm not even getting the full potential from the kit and I'm still saying this. Ideally it wants to be grounded on bottom floor etc.

Arrived as specified. Equipment was very easy to set up and I was up and running (literally) within 2 hours of recipes. The equipment itself is top quality and I already feel the difference over my last 20 year old machine. Highly recomended
