Good, proper cast iron dumbells. Spinlock collars for quick changing plates, so versatile in what weight you want. So good, I've just ordered another set to use on my tricep and curling bars. The only negative is they could be packaged better, as come in a cardboard box, with the plates wrapped in tissue paper. Good chance they can get scratched in shipping.

But good value for the price, for a proper brand such as York.

Very nearly bought a generic dumbell set off Amazon but so so glad I didn't, all of the cast iron sets were so much more expensive with mixed reviews and the others that were an affordable price were all cement/plastic plates. These are really good quality cast iron plates with metal bars and spinlocks, great set for just starting out with at home workouts.

Exactly as described

It's a nice dumbbell set. I also own an older 1" York dumbbell set (hollow dumbbell bars) with floating plastic grips. Something I failed to notice prior to buying these, is the difference in the diameter of the grips. The plastic grips are around 33mm where is the metal grips are 25mm. When doing twisting curls, these thinner metal grips are less comfortable, harder to grip and keep slipping (my hands are on the smaller side).
I'll try using bike handlebar tape to make these easier to hold, but until then, I'll stick with my old dumbbell bars for exercises, where you need to hold the bar vertically.

Excellent quality. The cast iron weights just look and feel better than vinyl; anything that makes me want to pick them up has to be a good thing!

I was a bit worried about ‘assembling’ these but they **** together very easily and stay tight when I’m using them.
They are comfortable to hold. Pleased with my purchase.

This is the second time I’ve bought these dumbbells - the first set has lasted many years and still going strong. One set of collars arrived faulty (they had not been machined incorrectly). A new set was sent out immediately, no questions asked. Can’t ask for much more than that!

We had an issue with a collar , emailed and new bar and collars arrived yesterday n the post.
